Early Childhood Music Classes

Musikgarten

Children and their caregivers will delight in these fun and engaging classes as they develop skills and become familiar with musical concepts. Curriculum for these classes is inspired by the approaches of Orff, Jaques-Dalcroze and Kodaly. Build musical skills through singing, dancing, storytelling and playing percussion instruments. Meet families who enjoy sharing and participating in music making. Choose a class for your child from birth to 5 years of age. All classes held at the Thumbnail Theater on the corner of 4th Street and Avenue D (1211 4th St) in Snohomish, Washington.

Infant "Family Music for Babies" (Birth – 18 months approx.) [30 minute classes]

Play musically with your baby through bouncing, wiggling, and rocking songs, dancing, moving, singing, and playing simple instruments. Music play activities are designed to increase your child’s curiosity about music, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought.

Toddler "Family Music for Toddlers" (Ages 18 months – 3 years approx.) [30 minute classes]

This level of classes expands the repertoire of songs, rhythmic rhymes, finger play, musical stories, instrument exploration, and movement to music for the young and adult participants.

Preschool "The Cycle of Seasons" (Ages 3 – 5 approx.) [45 minute classes]

This series of classes encourages the singing of call-and-response and simple songs, kinesthetic movement, percussion play, and instrument exploration.

Early Elementary "Music Makers at Home in the World/Around the World" (Ages 5-7 approx.) [45 minute classes]

Class Piano "Music Makers at the Piano" (Beginning at age 7) [1 Hour classes]
